Fair Credit Reporting Act

Lease 4 Credit is a furnisher of consumer credit information as defined under the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), 15 U.S.C. Β§ 1681 et seq. As a furnisher, we have specific legal obligations regarding the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of the information we report. This policy describes how we fulfill those obligations and how you can exercise your rights.

1. What We Report

Account Types

Lease 4 Credit reports the following account types to credit bureaus: vehicle leases, apartment and home rental agreements, rent-to-own contracts, and shed or storage unit leases. Each enrolled account is reported as a separate tradeline on your credit report.

Data Elements Reported

For each enrolled account, we report: account open date, account type, credit limit or lease amount, monthly payment amount, payment status (current, late, or delinquent), and payment history for each month the account is active.

What We Do Not Report

We do not report accounts that have not been verified, accounts for which we have not received authorization, or accounts with incomplete information. We do not report negative information that is not directly related to your enrolled lease or rental payments.

2. Which Bureaus We Report To

The Three Major Bureaus

Lease 4 Credit reports to all three major consumer credit reporting agencies: Equifax, TransUnion, and Experian. Reporting to all three ensures your payment history is visible to the widest range of lenders and creditors.

Reporting Frequency

We submit payment data to the credit bureaus on a monthly basis, typically between the 1st and 5th of each month for the prior month's activity. After submission, it typically takes 15–30 additional days for the information to appear on your credit report.

Bureau Processing Times

Each bureau processes incoming data on its own schedule. As a result, the same account may appear on one bureau's report before another. We have no control over individual bureau processing timelines and cannot expedite this process.

3. Reporting Timeline

First Report

Your first bureau report is submitted within 30–45 days of completing enrollment and onboarding. The exact timing depends on when in the monthly reporting cycle you enroll.

Ongoing Reporting

After your first report, your account is updated monthly for as long as your Lease 4 Credit subscription remains active and your enrolled lease or rental account is current.

After Cancellation

If you cancel your Lease 4 Credit subscription, we will cease submitting new monthly updates. Your previously reported payment history will remain on your credit report in accordance with applicable law β€” typically for 7–10 years from the date of last activity.

4. Accuracy & Data Integrity

Our Commitment to Accuracy

We are committed to reporting accurate, complete, and timely information to the credit bureaus. All account data is verified before submission. We maintain internal quality controls to detect and correct errors prior to reporting.

Your Responsibility

You are responsible for providing accurate account information at enrollment. If your lease amount, payment date, or other account details change, you must update your Lease 4 Credit account promptly. Inaccurate information provided by you may result in inaccurate bureau reporting.

Monitoring Your Report

We strongly encourage you to monitor your credit reports regularly. You are entitled to a free credit report from each bureau annually at AnnualCreditReport.com. Reviewing your reports helps you confirm that your Lease 4 Credit accounts are appearing correctly.

5. Dispute Process

If You Believe There Is an Error

If you believe that information reported by Lease 4 Credit to a credit bureau is inaccurate or incomplete, you have the right to dispute it. You may dispute directly with the credit bureau or by contacting us at disputes@lease4credit.com.

Our Investigation Process

Upon receiving a dispute, we will investigate the matter within 30 days as required by the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA). We will review the relevant account data, verify the information with available records, and either correct the error or confirm the accuracy of the reported data.

Dispute Resolution

If we determine that an error occurred, we will promptly notify the affected credit bureau(s) and submit a correction. If we determine the reported information is accurate, we will notify you in writing with an explanation of our findings.

Disputing Directly with Bureaus

You also have the right to dispute information directly with the credit bureaus. Contact information: Equifax β€” equifax.com/personal/credit-report-services; TransUnion β€” transunion.com/credit-disputes; Experian β€” experian.com/disputes.

6. Your Rights Under the FCRA

Right to Know

Right to Dispute

You have the right to dispute incomplete or inaccurate information. Consumer reporting agencies must investigate your dispute (usually within 30 days) unless they consider it frivolous.

Right to Correct Inaccuracies

Consumer reporting agencies must correct or delete inaccurate, incomplete, or unverifiable information β€” usually within 30 days of receiving your dispute.
